Elephant Fun

The girls made fast friends with Sai, a girl from Surin who stays with Jim and Kathi Hayes. She speaks virtually no English so it was interesting watching them try to communicate. They did surprisingly well.

While at camp in Surin, we got to visit The Elephant Village. 10 of the Elephants performed for us. It was great. Matt and Jim Hayes both got to be part of the show. The kids loved it and Lindsey actually was picked up on the trunk of one of the elephants.

Hi Matt and Courtney!
It looks like you are all doing well!
It's great to be able to see pictures and read about your "happenings"!
With love and prayers,

I came across your blog via a search for Thai elephants and thought you should see for yourself what they do to the elephants so that you are able to have "elephant fun."

This link goes to a slideshow that shows the pain inflicted on baby elephants - http://www.helpthaielephants.com/slideshow.html

And this is the live video - http://www.petatv.com/tvpopup/video.asp?video=thai_elephants&Player=wm

To be torturing God's creatures like this is not right. Please don't support this heinous practice. Thank you and God bless.
