Medicine for the Body - Medicine for the Soul

Today we had an amazing opportunity to share the gospel through the medium of a Medical Clinic. We took 13 of our church members to a village an hour away from the city of Surin. One of our church member's sister was saved there and then another lady. As the doors have continued to open, we were able to have a one-day English Camp last week - using the Bible Stories to teach 4th and 5th graders. Then today a team of Thai Christians and medical personnel from the States came to have a free clinic at this same village. We were able to help with registration, translation and sharing the gospel. We asked many of the villagers "Do you know who God is?" Most of them had no idea. Some had heard of God but had no idea what it meant to be a Christian. After each person was seen by a nurse and then the Dr., they then proceeded to the waiting area to wait for their medications. While they waited, someone would come and sit with them and tell them that they have received help for their spiritual ailments, but what they needed more importantly was help for their soul. Then they were given the gospel. But one of the more wonderful blessings is that the people in that village speak mostly Northern Khmer which most of our villagers speak. The Thai Christians from Bangkok could not communicate as well with these villagers as our church members could. When they heard the gospel in their heart language, they understand. What a wonderful opportunity! It was so humbling and amazing to watch many of our church members, even those saved in the last year, boldly proclaiming the glorious Good News of Jesus Christ to many who had never even heard His name! One of our ladies said "I witnessed until my throat was dry!" And they did it with joy. By the end of the day, we had seen 260 patients and there were 33 people who were interested in hearing more about the Gospel. Please pray with us that this seed that was planted today would grow up into abundant fruit for God's kingdom and His glory.
